John Weidert
Rotary Club President’s Message
29 June ‘19
Fellow HSV Rotary Club members. It was certainly an honor to be sworn in as President of this remarkable Rotary Club. This club has done so much for this wonderful community we live in. And, on an international basis, we have extended our hand and helped make a positive difference on numerous occasions. I am extremely proud of what we are, what we stand for and what we represent to all with whom we come in contact.
There are several goals I have for this 2019-2020 Rotary year. First and foremost, I want to see our entire club membership get involved in the things that interest them. Each person must and will feel that they are an important and essential part of our “Rotary Team”.
With that in mind, we are going to set-up a training program for our new members. This program will augment the “Red Badge” program we now have. And, our veteran club members will play a key role in this undertaking. Coupled with this, members who are interested in serving on our Rotary Club Board of Directors, as Committee Chairs, will have a thorough indoctrination program designed to get them up-to-speed and comfortable with the duties and responsibilities of the committee they would like to chair.
Starting up a Satellite Club and Interact Club will be a top priority. Additionally, where it makes sense, our club will partner on projects with the other Rotary Clubs in our area. Furthermore, based on the Vision Training our club had last January, we will be continually involved in accomplishing the 2019 through 2022 Goals we set. These Vision Goals were broken out into areas that our standing board committees will champion. That means, our standing committees will be the chair for the projects. And, our entire club membership will be involved in a sub-committee role, to carry out the tasks.
Fellow Rotarians, as I said at the start, I am honored to serve in this President’s role. And, I want to make sure that I do it right from the very beginning. Working as a “Team” we will make all the right things happen, for all the right reasons. Thank you all very much and have a Blessed Rotary Year.
